What Can You Expect From a Criminal Justice Class Online?

Criminal justice covers a very broad field and is related to a large variety of career fields such as social work, police detective, law, crime scene investigation, paralegal and legal secretary, depending on the degree you might wish to peruse, you could aim for a bachelor's degree in the chosen field, or a criminal science, or criminal science administration, whatever your choice you are sure to find a criminal justice class online.

Instruction in criminal justice extends to multiple areas; these can include sociology, philosophy, political science, criminal behavior, and many other areas. Entry level online classes can include managerial positions for students that have completed an associates degree, master's degree or bachelor's degree. This sort of training will give student a broad education that attempts to logically explain criminal behavior in society, and how they can control it.

Career instruction under the handle of associate's degree will prepare a student for work in corrections services and law enforcement. The program covers two years, and skills learned will fall under the following categories:

  • Firearms safety and use of firearms in relation to the job

  • Investigation of crime and crime scenes

The Graduate degree is not required for most positions in criminal justice, however, it gives the student the opportunity to advance to a senior level and be able to take on more responsibility.
