A graduate student from China’s Tsinghua University has created a special pancake cooker which allows him to create different patterns, like cartoon figures and Chinese characters, with an iPad.
The device allows users to cook a pancake in the shape of any pattern the user has created on his or her tablet computer, according to Wang Xin, designer of the device.
Wang said his initial startup plan was more relevant to 3D printing technology. However, his research turned to a somewhat different path after he got inspired by a pancake street vendor, and since that day he decided to combine his technology with food.
He said his invention garnered some attention when he tried to sell them at a food festival in August. Especially female customers showed keen interests in his pancake cooker, Wang said.
