Democracy

Living in the west often people ask...how come some countries that practice Islam are violent and kill disbelievers while others like Turkey, Morocco, Uzbekistan and others are completely tolerant to Christians and Jews. Don't they practice the same religion?....
After much thinking I guess it's all about political stability, that is it...e.g Pakistan is a great example.... Democracy is shady in the country ...breeding the worst extremists and the seat of power is always up for grabs and no one really has a firm hold on it. The instability (not necessarily money wise..... just governmental power wise) is what causes infighting between groups in a bid for power and fanaticism is a good way to draw people to your side to help you take control (it functions the same way fraternities, gangs, and cults do).....It probably has less to do with religion and more with politics... Same can hold true for countries who has been and are being or in the process of becoming like PK... breeding extremism in dire political straits and with lots of internal strife and in fighting. This is a rife breeding ground for fanaticism and it wouldn't matter what the religion was in the area ......people there would take up arms and go fight against external forces in the name of said religion
