From last couple of days I have been quite sick so during all this time I search through the internet and found some amazing ways to cure it naturally.. sharing it with you guys so you can combat yours when you get it :)

1. Lemon, Ginger & Honey Flu Remedy

For a long time, honey, ginger, and lemon have been recognized for their homeopathic properties.  When combined, they make a knock-out remedy against a myriad of ailments.  This elixer will relieve many of the symptoms that accompany flu, cold, infection and inflammation.  Just check out some of the natural properties of these ingredients:

Honey: antibacterial, antioxidant, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral

Ginger: antiviral, anti-inflammatory, aids digestion,  effective against human respiratory syncytial virus

Lemon: antiseptic, aids digestion, great source of calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids

So you can see how combining these elements will create a tasty treat that will relieve your aches, pains, indigestion, and even help you breathe a little better.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh lemon
  • Fresh ginger
  • Raw honey*

Directions:

  • Slice lemon into quarters and pack into jar
  • Grate ginger, and add to lemon (the amount is up to you - the more the better, I say!)

2. Apple Cider Vinegar Elixir

Some people swear by cider vinegar to cure every ailment known to man.

  • It is a natural remedy for heartburn.
  • Can help clear up skin conditions and acne (read this post for more information)
  • Promotes digestion and will keep you regular
  • Helps control weight
  • Can help regulate blood sugar (as a type 1 diabetic this has made a huge difference for me)
  • Helps reduce sinus infections and sore throats (my husband starts drinking this like crazy whenever he feels a cold coming on)
  • It is rich in enzymes and potassium
  • Can help ease menstrual cramps
  • Helps promote youthful healthy bodies

Sweetened Raw Apple Cider Vinegar Elixir:

  • 1 1/2 cup of cold filtered water
  • 2 tbs of apple or grape juice
  • 2 tbs of raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of stevia (powdered) if using liquid you only need a few drops.

* I only suggest using raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar.

Place all the ingredients together in a glass and stir until it is all mixed together. You can add a little ice if you like, and drink!

4. Asian Noodle Soup (Vegan)

It cures Cold.

If it’s cold where you live, if you’re coming down the the sniffles, if your roommate or co-worker just sneezed… take action and cook up a big pot of (vegan!) soup.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 heaping Tbsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced
  • 1/2 a jalapeno, seeds removed and thinly sliced
  • 6 cups low-sodium vegetable broth (preferably one without tomatoes, such as Whole Foods 365 Organic)
  • 3 green onions plus extra for serving, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 3 baby bok choy, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, peeled and sliced into very thin coins
  • 7 oz extra-firm tofu, cubed
  • 5 oz soba noodles
  • chopped cilantro, for serving
  • sriracha sauce, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium high heat. Once hot, add ginger and garlic and saute until fragrant, 2-3 minutes. Add jalapeno, vegetable broth, and green onions. Cover and simmer 10-15 minutes.
  2. While broth is simmering, cook soba noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. (These are cooked separately to keep your nice broth from getting murky!)
  3. Strain broth into a large bowl. (This step is optional, but I prefer to remove the solids.) Once strained, pour broth back into pot. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, vegetables, and tofu, and simmer until veggies are heated through, 1-2 minutes. Add soba noodles and heat for 1 more minute, until both noodles and broth are hot.
  4. Remove soup from heat and ladle into bowls. Serve alongside sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, and sriracha.
  5. Note: This soup is best eaten immediately, as it won't reheat well once the vegetables and noodles have been added. If you're planning to have leftovers, I recommend saving half the broth just after straining and before adding anything else. For leftovers, you can assemble the bowl of soup just before reheating, which will prevent mushy veggies and noodles.

5. Homemade Cough Remedy

This Homemade Cough Remedy is a spicy, honey-cider syrup potent enough to calm a cough and sooth a sore throat.

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (preferably Bragg's, if available)

2 tablespoons honey (locally produced raw honey is best, if available)

2 tablespoons water

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Place all the ingredients in a small jar and shake to combine. Leave at room temperature for a few days or place in the refrigerator for longer storage. Shake well each time, before using. The spices will not dissolve into the liquid. It will not be a thick syrup, it should remain watery.

11. Cote d’Azur Cure-All Soup

Between the garlic and the sage and the chicken broth and the egg yolks and the cheese, SOMETHING in there is gonna work.

This simple, subtle garlic concoction is used to cure colds, as well as the more common hangover.

INGREDIENTS (10)

  • 10 medium garlic cloves (about 1 large head), peeled
  • 6 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 large thyme sprigs
  • 6 cups water, or 3 cups water and 3 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more as needed
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (about 3 ounces)
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Halve each garlic clove and remove the germ in the center; discard the germ. Thinly slice the garlic and place in a large saucepan.
  2. Tie the sage, bay leaves, and thyme together with butcher’s twine, or bundle them in a piece of cheesecloth tied closed with twine. Place the herb bundle in the saucepan, along with the water (or water and broth) and the measured salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce the heat to low, and simmer gently for 30 minutes. Discard the herb bundle, keeping the broth at a simmer.
  3. Place the yolks and cheese in a medium bowl and whisk to combine. Add a few ladlefuls of soup to the cheese mixture and whisk until smooth. While whisking the soup in the saucepan, gradually add the cheese-soup mixture in a steady stream (the yolks will thicken the soup somewhat). Remove the pot from the heat and whisk for 1 minute more (if you keep it over the heat too long, the yolks may curdle). Taste the soup and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately, with a drizzle of olive oil over each portion.
