Don't go to the grocery with a hungry stomach

There's this one thing I learned from 2 financial advisers or even reading some books on tips how to be able to save something out from your earnings.

We all know that having a weekly/monthly grocery routine has something to do with money and budgeting.
The usual thing I do before going is to check whether the stocks in the kitchen, bathroom, or the important necessities of the family is running out or not.
Next, list down the items which are out of stock, items that needs some back ups when it's running out and eventually the things you wanted to have but still within the budget.

Now, here's the thing:
"Don't go to the grocery store with a hungry stomach."
Why? Because if you're strictly following your budget and the lists you have in hand, it will just ruin everything. You'll definitely be buying things (more or less food) that you wanted to eat and the tendency, you just don't need it that much.

Worsts, when you, your partner, or your children are hungry, you'll end up loosing patience, you'll end up fighting/ arguing and will be on a hurry doing the grocery which eventually losses the interest if not by one, well definitely both of you who do it regularly (why did i know this? because I experience it so, lol).
Do you go to the grocery with a hungry stomach?
