April 22 is celebrated every year as Earth Day to honour the earth and the concept of peace. The day was first observed in 1970. At present more than 192 countries observe the day. Various programmes and events are organized to make people aware of the importance of nature and environment in their life. It is the people who can make the earth an ideal place for living.
