Eternity In A Cave - Love To The Last Breath

Posted on at

You would follow me to the end of time with or without machine. It was your adventurous nature. In rain or snow. Sunlight or shadow. Under the moon beneath the heavenly expanse we would dance until we spun in unison with the Earth, crashing to the ground like we did when we were children. Too tipsy to stand with the loss of equilibrium, like a drunkard soaked in bourbon. We were as such.

Minds forever entangled with no possible separation, as if conjoined from birth. Not even the highest mountain could stand between us. Until we fell upon the cave.

It was perfect. The perfect end to a perfect life. Sealed inside by fate with no means of escape. Left us locked inside, this earthquake. With the air thinning down we recited our vows, remembering our first date. Oh how we danced, how we kissed and then never an anniversary missed. In and out of consciousness and fading away, you passed what oxygen was left to my lungs so hollow. Whispering your final words, 'now it's your turn to follow'.
