1. It was first called Marcos Bridge because it was built during Marcos time

2. It was also dubbes as a "Bridge of Love" since the late president dedicate the bridge to his wife Imelda also known as the ""Rose of Tacloban""

3. It's part of the Maharlika Highway. San Juanico bridge was constructed as part of Pan-Philippine highway (commonly known as "Maharlika Highway") a network of roads, bridges and sea routes that connects Luzon, Samar, Leyte and Mindanao.

4. It shows initial L and S. L stands for Leyte and S stands for Samar.

5. The $21.9 million bridge was completed within four years of construction. 

6. It crosses the narrowest strait in the country, the San Juanico Strait, which connect the island of Samar and Leyte.

7. It is still considered as the longest bridge in the Philippines.

8. A brave action star jumped off San Juanico Bridge in 1981. The daring stunt was done by Dante Varona, to prove that he is the king of stunt.

9. The Bridge remain strong and operation even the rampage of typhoon Haiyan

10. P30k-P35 worth of bronze wiring were stolen from the bridge on February 17, 2014. It remained dark for a few nights. now the lights are back but the case remain unsolved.
