A tight bowling by Indian bowlers, especially by pacer Mohammed Shami who bagged three wickets for only 35 runs helped India to skittle out West Indies for a meager score of only182 runs in 44.2 overs. But in reply, India had a bad start; it struggled throughout the chase but a patient knock of 45 not out by skipper MS Dhoni finally helped India to beat West Indies by four wickets.
