Fresh fruit and vegetables are urdeniably important to one's heath.Therefore, we should be concerned with the proper handling of these nutritious foods. Use these handy tips to be safe and make the best choices.

  • Fresh-looking fruits and vegetables are best.Don't buy anything that o bruised,shriveled, moldy,slimy,and smells bad.
  • Buy only what you need.They rot quickly and need to be consumed within e few days. Don't stock up.Apples,potatoes and some citrus can be stored longer at home in the crisper
  • Handle with care.Put them at the top of the shopping cart.
  • Promptly put produce away.Keep it in the crisper drawer that has the higher humidity.
  • Throw away the experid foods item.
  • Wash your hands befero and after handling fresh food.
  • Wash all fruits and vegetables (even ones with rinse) in clean warm water.
  • Use a small scrub brush to removed dirt.
  • Wash produce just before you see it,not just when you put it away.
  • Leafy green, such as lettuce, should be rinse before refrigerating to maintain its crispness.
