STEPS IN MAKING A CANDLE:

  1. Prepare the wax for melting. Paraffin wax is the most commonly and traditionally used wax in making a candle, and it’s good for beginners because it melts quickly. You can also use used candles in order to recycle it. Just cut it into small pieces to melt quickly.
  2. Put a water on a boiler and place another boiler inside it. You cannot put candle wax directly on heat, it must be melted slowly because it may catch fire or fire will evaporate since wax is an oil based. Place a smaller pot or pan inside the boiler containing water because that smaller container will slowly melt the wax. You can add coloring and stir it well.
  3. When the wax is melted, pour it on a container/molder. Prepare your containers/molders before pouring the wax, make sure that the wick is properly placed at the center. Put a small amount of stick glue or any strong glue at the tip of the wick and place it down the center of the container/molder. To keep the wick in place, you can use double stick adhesive and tie it both ends of the stick where the wick is at the middle of the stick and just place the double stick on the upper middle of the container/molder to keep it in place.
  4. Cool the wax. Wait until wax becomes dry, turning into candles. It takes a lot of time to make the finish product, but the longer you let it cool, the better they will be.
  5. Remove the wax from the mold and trim the wick within a quarter inch on the top of the the candle. If there is intended container, just only trim the excess wick. This will help contain the flame, as longer wick will cause the flame to be too large.
  6. Light the wick and enjoy your masterpiece.
