How To Make Chalkboard Love Note Cookies

For 18-20 cookies

    • Wilton® foodcrafting supplies:
      • 12" Rolling Pin
      • 9-Pc Valentine Color Cookie Set (sold in stores)
      • 10"x15." Cookie Sheet
      • 14""x20" Cooling Grid
      • Roll-N-Cut Mat
      • 9" Fondant Roller: pink guide rings
      • 10 oz Decorator Preferred® Black Fondant
      • Decorator Brush Set
      • Piping Gel
      • 1 oz White Candy Melts® Candy
      • 12" Disposable Decorating Bags
      • Parchment paper
      • 10"x14" Cake Board (sold in stores)
      • Candy sticks
      • Mini Heart Icing Decorations
      • Favorite roll-out cookie recipe
      • Food-safe scissors
      • Ruler
      • Tape

 

DIRECTIONS:

    1. Make cookies one day in advance. Prepare & roll out dough following recipe directions. Use cutters to cut shapes. Bake & cool cookies.
    2. Cover cookies with fondant one day in advance. Use 9" fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out black fondant 1⁄16" thick. Use cutters to cut shapes to match cookie shapes. Attach fondant shapes to cookies with brush & piping gel. Allow to dry 24 hours.
    3. Decorate cookies. Melt white Melts® candy according to package directions. Fill a disposable decorating bag with melted candy, cut ." off tip of bag. Pipe 20 lines of candy, 2" long, on parchment paper-covered cake board. Allow to chill, 10 to 15 minutes. Use candy sticks to write messages & make designs on cookies. Attach icing decorations on cookies with dots of piping gel.
