How to Naturally Cleanse Your Intestines

Posted on at

The intestines generally accumulate a lot of waste that make the entire body function poorly.  The intestines, also known as the colon, could cause a lot of problems if not clean, which is why performing a drainage is recommendable.  You should also learn what causes toxin accumulation so as to not repeat it, or to prevent it as much as possible.

What should you know about cleansing your intestines?

If you want to cleanse your colon or intestines due to occasional or mild constipation, all you need to do is add fiber or herbs to normalize movement.  But it would be difficult for this to remove all the “old stuff” that may remain stuck to the intestinal walls.  Any person that doesn’t go to the bathroom for 5 straight days will have accumulated waste from 15 different meals inside their body.

Performing an intestinal cleanse is beneficial for the entire body because it eliminates everything that is no longer useful, and which may obstruct it, from parasites to some product that was consumed a long time ago.  A good colon cleanse and an appropriate diet will make the intestines clean.  This also translates into an inner sense of peace, better sleep, better breath, better body odor, the disappearance of pimples or break outs, etc.  It also has other tonic effects, like stimulating abdominal or liver glands, especially the pancreas.  Intestinal cleansing improves food absorption and assimilation.

IntestinesYou need to know that laxatives are not good because their active ingredients are more toxic and irritating than the meal itself.  On a natural level, the best thing are lavages, enemas, herbs or salts.  These resources are more trustworthy, and they can be chosen any time you have a certain knowledge regarding the topic.

You should never become dependent on these methods, nor use them frequently, because this could produce a counterproductive effect. Being regular is a natural consequence of dietary change.  This means it’s not “worth it” to eat everything, and then once a week do an intestinal cleanse, because it doesn’t work that way.

You could also use certain foods that, by themselves, have “cleansing” properties for the colon and you don’t need to practice any of the aforementioned techniques.

Vegetarian recipes for cleansing the colon

These recipes will help you effectively and simply cleanse your intestines and your digestive system at the same time.  All you need to do is change your diet and start including more fruits that are in season, vegetables, legumes, and dry seeds.  You intestines will be much cleaner and consequently, so will your kidneys and liver.  Your health will noticeably improve, as well as all of your organs in general.

One of the best recipes for cleansing your colon is made with the juice from two oranges, seven strawberries, and three pitted peaches, cut into pieces.  This helps naturally cleanse your intestines and strengthens your respiratory system.  It has also been proven to reduce depression.  Simply place the fruit in the blender and mix.  Drink immediately without straining, before breakfast.  Drink this for nine continuous days.  Then, an hour after drinking this smoothie, you may eat a normal breakfast.

Intestines 2There are also herbs, on the other hand, that are very good for this purpose, like, for example:

  • Cascara sagrada: used for thousands of years, this shell was introduced to 16th century Spanish by Northern aborigines.  It has compounds that are known as “anthroquinones”, which help activate colon contractions, emmulating the movement of going to the bathroom.  It also helps eliminate waste in individuals that suffer from a delicate digestive system.
  • Plantago Psyllium: a shell to a seed native to India and Iran.  The shells are used in herbal and alternative medicine.  They contain a lot of soluble dietary fiber.  Steep them to create a gelatin dough around it, which acts as a broom that sweeps everything off the intestinal walls.  Promotes general colon health.

Intestines 3

  • Althaea Officinalis: this herb has been used since Ancient Greek times, where it gets its name from.  “Altho” means “cure”.  It contains large sugar molecules (mucilages) that enact a calming effect on mucous membranes in the colon wall.
  • Cinnamomum Cassia: also known as Chinese cinnamon, it is the first spice that came to Europe with Alexander the Great.  Before that, it was take to Egypt and Israel.  It is cultivated for its oil, blossoms and its shell in Southeast China, and has a wonderful effect on the digestive system.  It promotes tissue health and healthy membranes in various parts of the stomach and colon.
