Indian Constitution

Why it is dangerous to mess with the constitution

Of late, there have been many instances when groups have held governments to ransom in India. This has led to governments making changes and guaranteeing them opportunities to jobs. Nevertheless, the fact is that the Indian Constitution did the same thing in its original form.  Confused? Well your confusion is based due to the misinformation spread by vested powers. According to the constitution, every Indian citizen irrespective of religion or caste should have equal opportunities. However, where we failed was the implementation of the same. In the early part of India’s history,  power and money was concentrated in  a few people’s hands. Since governments needed access to private lands and money , they had to accede to the demands placed by these landowners.

This led to only  development of these communities. Other communities tried making their displeasure known. However, the power of money suppressed their dissent sometimes violently. Today, as economic opportunities have grown , the tables have literally turned. The dissenting groups have now started exercising their power and money to get equal opportunities. However, it is time such activities are curbed. Else, it will lead to  a never-ending circle. The biggest travesty is that the document, the constitution of India , which was made with so much care, will become a piece of paper and nothing else.
