Muslim filmmaker Justin Mashouf will be screening his controversial Iranian-American documentary, “Warring Factions,” on March 25th as part of the annual NYU Shuruq Festival. The film documents Mashouf’s journey to Iran to find break dancers in Tehran and shed light on the rising tensions between Iran and the US. On the filmmaker’s journey home, he finds himself detained by American Homeland Security, having his footage confiscated by authorities.
