Jail for those responsible for the death of the father Chilean President Bachelet

The Chilean court sentences handed down Friday to three years in prison on two Air Force colonels retired for his role in the torture and death of the father of the current president, Michelle Bachelet. The crime was committed in the first months of the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
According to a report by the Forensic Medical Service, the president's father died of the torture after being arrested and charged with "treason" after the 1973 military coup, supported by the United States, and kept in Pinochet to power in 1990
.The Own Michelle Bachelet, the only rule for the second time since the return to democracy, was one of the 28,000 people were tortured under the Pinochet dictatorship.
Along with other victims of the regime, Bachelet and her mother, Angela Jeria, they took refuge in the 1970s in the former East Germany.
The retired colonels who were sentenced to prison effectively have two weeks to appeal the judgment to the highest courts of Chile.
