How to overcome lack of motivation and to get yourself going, is often the hardest thing to get started. You feel you have a mental barrier that is blocking you from achieving your desires. Motivation is creating a set of new habits so that you can get going and maintain the pace to complete the task.

A few tips to get you going:

1. Plan, plan and plan your work. Planning is an important part of beginning to motivate yourself. Without proper planning you will find it difficult to achieve goals that you wish to accomplish. Start with a schedule of when you intend to work on your particular project, set out timelines for completion. However, be realistic with your goals. And make them achievable. If the goal is a big one then break it down in to manageable smaller goals. Plan on working when you are at your best mentally and physically, for many people it could be the early morning, after a good nights rest.

2. Once the planning stage is over then its time to take action. This is the time to see your plan working. And as you see it in action you see the results. Follow the plan and note your results as you go along. This is not the time to procrastinate, this the time to take action. Your actions will bring results. As your see the results you will be encouraged to continue working toward the ultimate goal.

3. Set your goals in manageable shorter goals, it will help you when you see each small goal has been reached. As you reach one goal you will be spurred on to continue reaching your other goals.

4. Sometimes routine can get you into a situation when you will lack motivation to continue. Change your routine and make it more interesting. If you find the task becomes tedious then change the tasks around to make them more interesting. You will achieve much more if you keep your interest in the project.
