Leadership of Women

Women are now dictating the growth of companies across the globe.

Of late, global companies are seeing a promising trend . This trend is the appointment of Woman CEOs and Presidents. However, this is where the similarity ends. The actual reality is that the implementation of equal opportunities is just starting to take effect. All the women CEOs and Presidents started their careers right at the basic levels.  They learned the basics of the job from the ground up level. Like their male counterparts, they educated themselves on the different aspects of the business. They also contributed to the success and faced colossal failures like everyone else.

Why are these factors important? Well the reality is that people think that just because a woman is the head, she has taken special favours or she cannot make the company successful. The other side of the coin is that sometimes, companies depend on the inbuilt instinctive nature of a woman to lead them out of a messy situation. But , any head of an organization –man and woman has to be treated on par with similar positions in the industry. While a woman making it to the top is good news, we must not assume that development of woman should take a back seat. If anything, we have to focus on continued development of women to get the next generation of women leaders ready to take over.
