 WELCOME TO THE FILMANNEX

HISTORY:

In the early 1960s, researches including Paul Baran, Donald Davies or Joseph Livklider independently published the first paper describing the idea of building computer networks. Given the cast of computer, sharing them over a long distance was an interesting idea. In the US, first computer networks started in 1969, which is known as ARPANET. The ARPANET networks system runs till mid of 1980s.  In France, Louis Pouzin developed the Cyclades network. Many other network researches were built during the 1970s, T the same time, the telecommunication and computer industries became interested in computer networks. Now at that time these two industries are going towards the Networks. The telecommunication industry bet on the X25, while the computer industry were going to adopted different approach by designing Local area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).    Many LAN technologies such as Ethernet or Token Ring were designed at that time. Now at that time there will be connect more and more computer together. SO the idea of computer networking is developed.

DEFINITION OF COMPUTER NETWORK:

A computer network is a group of interconnected computer electronically. This means that computer can talk to each other through a some  physical medium. Every computer in a network can send and receive information to the other computer that are connected to that network.  network may be classified on the basis of variety of computer networks. that are given below.

Some basic type of computer network includes:

1) PERSONAL AREA NETWORK (PAN)

2) LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)

3) WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN)

4) METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK (MAN)

5) CAMPUS AREA NETWORK (CAM)

6) GLOBAL AREA NETWORK (GAN)

           1) PERSONAL AREA NETWORK (PAN)

A personal area network (PAN) is a computer network used for communication among computer devices close to one person. Some examples of devices that are used in a PAN are printers, fax machines, telephones and scanners. The reach of a PAN is typically about 20-30 feet. Personal area networks may be wired with computer buses such as USB and FireWire. A wireless personal area network (WPAN) can also be made possible with network technologies such as IrDA and Bluetooth.

          2) LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)

A network that is with in the closed building, home , office or even spread to 1, 2 building. This type of area are more secured than the other.

                  3) WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN)

A network that are connected two or More LAN, but that is limited to a specific and contiguous geographical area such as a college campus, industrial complex, office building, or a military base. A CAN may be considered a type of MAN (metropolitan area network), but is generally limited to an area that is smaller than a typical MAN.

      4) METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK (MAN)

A metropolitan area network, that connect two or more LOCAL AREA NETWORK or CAMPUS AREA NETWORK together. But this area not extend beyond the boundary of the city or town.    The main devices that are used in this type if area are ROUTER< HUBS< SWITCHES etc.

                5) CAMPUS AREA NETWORK (CAN)

it is just like a WAN, that covers the large geographically area .

                               6) GLOBAL AREA NETWORK (GAN)

GAN is generally used for mobile communication across the arbitrary number of wireless LANs. satellite coverage area.
