On Wednesday night on one of the biggest stages in world football, such as the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy, FC Barcelona striker Luis Suárez made his 50th appearance with the Club. In reaching this milestone, it has been obvious that Suárez has adapted with great speed to Barça's style of play. His numbers prove it — 50 games and 28 goals, an average 0f 0.56 per game. AsGerard Piqué recently said, "Suárez is the best [pure] striker in the world."

One year under his belt

After signing with the Catalan club in the summer of 2014, Suárez could not make his blaugrana debut until October 25 due a sanction stemming from that summer's World Cup in Brazil. Consequently, the striker has reached 50 games less than a year, demonstrating his ability to gain the trust of head coach Luis Enrique, one of the keys to the staggering four titles that Barça has won over that period.

Decisive goals

Until now, Suarez has scored 28 goals. The very first came in Barça's 4–0 win at APOEL Nicosia in last season's UEFA Champions League group stage. The most recent came on Wednesday, thanks to an assist from Ivan Rakitic, in the first game of the this season's Champions League. Some of Suárez's goals have been crucial, like the one he scored in the June final in Berlin which broke a 1–1 tie with Juventus — eventually standing as the game-winner — and drew Barça closer to the Club's fifth Champions League title. Suárez also scored the game-winner in last season's El Clásico at Camp Nou as well as a big goal in theUEFA Super Cup in Tbilisi.
