Candy Crush addict was left in agony after rupturing a tendon in his thumb while playing theaddictive game for six weeks straight.

The 29-year-old went to the doctor complaining of pain and problems moving his digit. Then, an MRI on his hand found he had torn a tendon involved in thumb movement and he needed surgery.

The Californian said he only noticed the pain after he finished playing the puzzle game every single day for nearly two months, and was so engrossed in it that he failed to notice he had actually harmed himself.

Doctors were even amazed that he didn’t feel any pain after suffering the injury because the game was taking up all his concentration.

He had been using his left hand to play the game and his right hand to do everything else. The gamer himself had recently left the military and was in-between jobs.

The man is reported to have said: “Playing was a kind of secondary thing, but it was constantly on.”

The Candy Crush game, which involves lining up brightly colored sweets to make them match and score points, has become a sensation since being released in 2012, being downloaded more than 500 million times, and is a favorite pastime of most people.
