MANATEE TWINS

Posted on at

Save the Manatee Club reports: "A female manatee with twin calves was recently reported in the Homosassa River in Florida. The mother is a longtime visitor to the area and is known as "CR707". Twins are unusual for manatees. On average, a mature female, or cow, will bear one calf every two to five years. If you spot a manatee in the wild, please remember to look, but don't touch and observe from a distance."
