Movie Review: Neverlake

Posted on at

This movie begins with a girl named Jenny arriving by bus. She waves to her dad before picking up her luggage and exiting the bus. While he is driving her home, a little boy suddenly appears in the middle of the road. Her father slams on the brakes. The boy disappears before the car comes to a halt.

When Jenny arrives home, she is invited into a room wherein she sees a painting of people bringing items to the lake. The lake is called the Lake of Idols. It is Neverlake. At the lake, there is mysterious whispering.

As the movie progresses, Jenny visits children in a building nearly. At first I thought the building was some kind of hospital. The children warn Jenny not let the adults see her. They claim the adults are bad. Jenny is also warned never to go to the lake at night. When Jenny is about to leave; she hears people crying, but she does not see them.

The movie Neverlake is a horror story about a girl named Jenny who eventually learns about unspeakable horror taking place. Parts of the movie are gory. The movie is very well put together. And the viewer is constantly learning more and more about the lake and the children as the movie progresses. The acting is good and everything is satisfactorily explained before the movie is over. As with all horror movies, this movie may be frightening for young children. This movie is not rated. I think it is a very good horror movie and I recommend it for those who love horror.
