Mulberry Fruits and It's Nutrition Facts     


     Mulberries are succulent, tart, and sweet. They are rich in flavonoid phytonutrients. Botanically, they are the berries obtained from the silkworm tree.


     Three species has been recognized for their economic importance White mulberry is a native to Eastern and Central China,  Red or American mulberry is a native to Eastern United States, and the black mulberry which is native to Western Asia, this is the species where  the mulberries in the Philippines falls. 



     Mulberries are less in calories. They have phytonutrients compound like polyphenol pigment antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that are essential for optimum health. They have high amounts of phenolic flavonoid  phytochemicals called antocyanins. It also contains resveratrol  and also an excellent source of Vitamin C. It also contains Vitamin A and E.  It is also an excellent source of Iron and minerals like potassium, manganese and magnesium. They are also rich in  B-complex vitamins and vitamin K.




     Consumption of berries has a potential health effects against cancer, aging and neurological diseases, inflammation, diabetes, and bacterial infections. With it's so many vitamins and minerals consumption of berries  plays an important factor in our health.
