One of my favorite and delicious preparations is always “SAAMBAR”.

In my home everyone likes my preparation of saambar. Whenever I am in an emergency it will hardly take me 15 to 20 mins only to prepare it. it will always come out well for me. Here I’m going to write a blog about how I prepare my Saambar in my homeJ

I used to prepare it with Toor dall you can take up an option with masoor dall also.

I am ready to start the preparation.

Ingredient are … 1 cup of Toordall, 3tomatoes, 2 onions, 2tsp of refined oil, turmeric a pinch, asafetida a pinch, mustered, 5 tooth garlic, salt, 1 spoon off chili powder and water.

Take your cooker and add one cup of toordall or 200grams of toordall, chop the tomatoes and onions in to small pieces, a pinch of turmeric powder and asafetida. Add 3 to 4 cups of water. Switch on the stove.. Keep your cooker closed and place it top of the stove. Leave the cooker for at least 10 mins or up to you get 4 or 5 whistles… once done see whether dall has ready to smash it. Mix the collection well with stir. Once all the ingredients stirred well add 1 spoon of salt and one spoon of chili powder and mix it well.

In another pan add some oil once the oil get heated add half spoon of mustered and semi smashed garlic into it. Once the garlic changed it color to semi brown add it in the cooker. Keep the cooker again in the stove with medium heat.. Let it be for around 8 to 10 mins… finally add some coriander leaves for garnishing.
