Another pecan dish. Pecans are a tree that is a type of hickory native to areas of the Americas. The fruit of the pecan tree is also called pecan, and is a type of culinary nut rich in omega-6 fatty acids and a source of protein and unsaturated fats.

Tortes are not the same as pies. They are a type of cake, which is usually multi-layered and commonly includes cream, and mat have other ingredients for the filling.
