On Women's Day, Saina Nehwal could not make India proud once again.

Lots of expectations were there from Birmingham from London Olympic bronze medallist Saina Nehwal on Sunday. But unfortunately she could not make it possible for India. Saina was just one step away from joining Indian legends Prakash Padukone and P Gopichand who had bagged the prestigious title in the past in 1980 and 2001 respectively. But it was her ill luck that she suffered a heart-breaking loss to Spain's Carolina Marin in the women's singles final and all our dreams ended in agony.
