Manny Pacquiao insists his ‘killer instinct’ is back ahead of his $300 million showdown with Floyd Mayweather.

Pacquiao is entering the final stages of his preparation for the mega-money showdown – and the thought of becoming the first man to beat Mayweather has brought back his best.

The Filipino boxer was talking following his final open training session before the big fight, as members of the media swarmed around the ring to see him put through his paces by trainer Freddie Roach.

He insists: “My determination to win has never been higher than for this fight. My killer instinct is back.”

“My entire career defines my legacy. Everything I have done in boxing,” he said.

“I have had some great, great accomplishments and achievements in my career. I won titles in eight different weight divisions.”

He insists that he is not in the fight for the money, but more for the love of being in the ring.

“Boxing is still my passion. I do it to please the fans, to give them excitement in return for their support. Not for the money. I am not a materialist.

“Now we have one of the biggest fights in history. But it’s not about how much we will be paid. Whether it’s two dollars or a hundred million dollars – it’s what you do with it.”

Pacquiao says that a rematch is not likely to happen at the end of the year, regardless of the result.

Pacquiao said: “The negotiations for the first one were so hard. How can we talk about a second one? The first one was so hard to make happen.”
