"RIGHTS OF PARENTS IN ISLAM"

Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) said:

A man asked the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.), "What rights the parents had on their children." The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) answered, "Both are your Paradise and your Hell."  (Ibn-e-Maja)

Abdullah bin Umar  (R.A) relates that the Holy Prophet said: "Allah"s pleasure and approval are in the pleasure and approval of the parents, and Allah's anger lies in the displeasure of the parents." (Tirmidhi)

Abu Hurayra (R.A) said that a man asked the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) "Who had the most priority to good treatment?" The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) replied, "Your mother"

Abu Hurayra said that he heard the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) saying: "Of the gates of Paradise, father is the Central Gate. If is now up to you to lose it or to protect it."  (Tirmidhi)

Abu Hurayra (R.A) tells us that on one occasion the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) remarked in a trance: "He is humbled. he is humbled. he is humbled!"

The companions asked, "Who is humbled, O Prophet of Allah?" The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) answered, "He who found his/her parents or one of them in old age, and yet did not enter paradise (by serving them)."  (Muslim)

Anas (R.A) reports that the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) said, "He who desires that his life-span & wealth may increase, he should treat his parents magnificently and other relatives with benign compassion."
