Shutting Up Even When Required to Speak

Posted on at

I grew up in a culture where answering back to parents or relatives older than me especially during heated arguments is a taboo. It has always been like that. And I have carried that until I grew up. It has its ups and downside though. For one, you cannot defend yourself even if it was not your fault.

As I was thinking on this and I realized that this could be the reason why I am not so outspoken whenever I am faced with people who have higher authority over me.

Just last week I was told not to shut up, I was asked to speak.

 I spoke a little.

 I will speak some more.

I will speak more of things that make sense.

I hope to speak and be able to inspire and encourage those who listen.
