My favorite hobby is singing

My early beginnings
I can remember as a little girl how I developed a love for music. I started off listening to The Jackson Five. The first song I heard was "ABC". When I saw theiralbum cover, I was really fascinated by the artwork. I also developed a love for singing. I belted out my first song "I'll Be There"; and my folks loved it. They would often ask me how did I learn to sing like that. I used to have this dream that I would be on the stage singing with my favorite group.

As I grew up, my love for music developed even more. I loved listening to the music of various artists like Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Earth, Wind & Fire. I was always listening to the radio to hear the latest songs from different artists. Mysinging began to develop as well. When my mother would have company over, she would ask me to sing for her friends; they loved it as well. I would always try to mimic whatever artist I thought that I could do. I must say, I thought I sounded pretty good. During my senior year in high school, I entered the talent show. Although, I did not win, I still had a lot of fun. As much as I love to sing, I would do it for free. I must admit though, I have a fear of being in front of a large crowd.

Did I forget to mention that I love to sing gospel music as well. Some of my favorite artists are Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Tramaine Hawkins, Mary, Mary and many others. I have yet to post a video of me singing one of my favorite gospel tunes. I like to listen to and sing the traditional gospel hymns as well as the contemporary, urban gospel songs. I say that the message is in the music. While growing up, I used to sing in my church choir; that was so much fun. But I hated going to choir rehearsals on Thursday night.

Fast forward to today, I work at a local bank. But I always would ask myself why I did not pursue a career in music. I often wonder what my life would be like. When I found out that I was going to have my first child...I said I can't do this because I need to be here with my child. My mom and stepfather were extremely helpful. I guess I just got so busy in raising my children and working that I forgot all about me. Hopefully, I want to get back into my singing so that I possibly could start something.....perhaps a music career. Who knows what may happen.

I recently posted a video on YouTube singing Heatwave's "Always & Forever". I hope you like it.

Update.....I've posted another video of me singing Luther Vandross "So Amazing". Let me know what you think.

Update.....Check out my latest video giving tribute to The King of Pop, Michael Jackson. I'm singing my version of "She's Out of My Life". I hope you enjoy it as much as I did bringing it to you. Let me know what you think.
