Spring clean up

Half Ton of Ghost Gear ~ local news

Every spring local groups clean up loose and lost fishing gear in the ocean. This equipment is serious business around here and is quite costly. These cleanups eliminate water hazards caused by the randomly placed debris as well as saving local small business a lot of money.

On a side note; while it can be tempting to some to try to make off with someone else's trap, the fines if you are caught keep this from being a widespread problem. Occasionally tourists have found themselves in trouble for picking up washed up traps.
