The Adjustment Bureau Movie Review: A Man With A Hat

Posted on at

Since I have seen 'The Adjustment Bureau', I look at people with hats differently. Are they watching me? Can they disappear behind any door? If you have also seen it, you know what I am talking about.

I really enjoyed the movie. You get into the story right away and it is served by several good actors, with particular mentions for John Slattery, so dapper in his 'Mad Men' suit, Emily Blunt who cleverly wore flats for the final chase run, and of course Matt Damon, always impeccable, hat or not.

What I didn't know at the beginning is that the movie is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, 'The Adjustment Team'. Without giving away the story, I can tell you that it is all about being in control of your destiny, and whether or not a powerful someone (or something?) manage our life. How? By sending the men (yes, no women in the Bureau...) with the hats to make the adjustments.

And if you are a New York addict - as myself - you will be thrilled by the views of the city and the scenes shot in the streets and in Madison Square Park.

So next time something peculiar happens in your life, don't be fooled, it is not chance, it is not a coincidence. Your future just has been adjusted.
