The World Cup and The Mexican Energetic Reform

Posted on at

The World Cup kicked off today along with the debate of the Energetic Reform in Mexico. Many say that the scheduling of the debates with the World Cup is a plan to keep people distracted so that they won´t pay attention to what is going on in the Senate. This reminds me of the presidential debate that was held in 2012 and was scheduled at the same time that the Mexican soccer team was playing a match. Guess who had more viewers. In my opinion, I think it wouldn´t matter much if the debates wouldn´t be held during the World Cup, not many people would pay attention to them. As much as it hurts me to say this, when it comes to politics, we Mexicans don´t really care, and since we don´t care or are afraid to manifest ourselves, the government continuous implementing and wants to implement ridiculous taxes on us such as tax on dog food, tax on medicine, and tax on food. Until, we Mexicans, start to care, get involve, and have the guts to protest, then, and only then, there will be real laws and real reforms in this country.
