These Babies Can Do Something Some Adults Can’t! Its Amazing!

Posted on at

Most parents are aware of how unpredictable infants can be. When a new baby comes home parents take drastic steps to baby proof the house, stairs, drawers, closets, hallways – if you can think of it, chances are there’s something made to baby proof it.

Unfortunately, no matter how much you try to protect your babies, they will always find some way to get into trouble – accidently falling into a swimming pool is up there on this list! Even though you can baby proof a swimming pool, kids always seem to find ways to break through the barrier. Or you could simply be at someone else’s house that doesn’t have a fence at all – a party at a friend’s house for example.

The worst part is that death due to drowning is quite common among children in the US. According to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the leading cause of death for infants and young children between the ages of 1-4. Shockingly, about 75% of these drownings occurred when parents were on the premise and were away from their children for less than 5 minutes.

The best way to deal with this is to train your babies to handle drowning.  Yes babies are very capable of not only protecting themselves from drowning, but also calling (crying) for help!

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) was founded by Dr. Harvey Barnett in 1966. They are “the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children.”

“Today, our mission, “Not One More Child Drowns,” is the foundation of everything we do and is the driving force behind ISR’s employees, our independent ISR Instructors, and our major corporate partnerships. We believe the successful prevention of the leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 4 in the U.S. will require a large group of caring and capable professionals whose sole focus is to save lives. To date, we have delivered more than 8,000,000 ISR Self-Rescue® lessons and saved more than 800 lives.”

The video posted above shows exactly how babies react to the situation after their training. As parents, one can simply never do enough to provide security for their children; the idea that we can train them to survive through this horrible hazard seems logical and should be explored. Check out the video and give us your thoughts on it.
