Mysore Tiger

Tiger when you hear this word you imagine a wild and brave animal. Over here, we are not talking about the tiger (wild animal) but about The Tiger of Mysore, Tipu Sultan. Tipu Sultan was a scholar, soldier and a poet. He was born on 20th November 1750. Tipu Sultan introduced managerial innovations during his rule such as the introduction of a new coin age, a new Mauludi lunisolar calendar and a new land revenue system. He initiated the growth of Mysore Silk Industry. Tipu Sultan was a furious warrior king and was so speedy in his movement that it seems to the opponent that he is combating on many fronts at the similar time. Tipu Sultan manage to restrain all the little kingdoms in the south. He conquered the Nizams .Tipu Sultan was also one of the few Indian rulers who defeated British armies. on the methods introduced by French technicians Tipu Sultan started new coinage, calendar, and a new system of weights and measures. He was well skilled and had good experience languages such as Kannada, Urdu, Persian, Arabic, English and French. Tipu Sultan wanted to become a Sufi, but his father Hyder Ali insisted he become a capable soldier and leader. The last words before the Fourth war (Last War) his French Military Advisor suggested him to escape the war and live to fight another time as in reply Tipu Sultan said, “ One day of life as a Tiger is far better than thousands years of living as a Jackal”.
