Tigers lose 3rd warm up match

Bangladesh today lost against their Asian rival Pakistan by 3 wickets in their third warm up match ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015.

This is the third consecutive defeat for the tigers in this year’s world cup warm up schedule.

Chasing 247 runs to win in 50 over, Pakistan lost their two openers within just 4.1 overs, posting only 8 runs to the score board. Later, Haris Sohail and Umar Akmal scored 39 each to come back to the game.

Bangladesh was still in the game as Pakistan needed over 6 runs per over in their last 11 overs. A late surge by hard hitter Shahid Afridi and Sohaib Maqsood’s unbeaten 90 ball 93 run knock took Pakistan home with three wickets and 11 balls to spare.

Mashrafe Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed picked up two wickets each to put up the fight for the tigers.Earlier, the tigers decided to bat first winning the toss, and Tamim Iqbal’s 81 and Mahmudullah Riad’s 83 run knocks contributed to post a competitive score of 246 for 10 in 49.5 overs.

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Irfan picked up five wickets for his side.

The match was held at Sydney’s Blacktown Olympic Park Oval.
