Tips For Embedding Links

Posted on at

Embedding links is when you add, in your text post submission, the code which the reader can click to go to a different page.  Bitlanders represents that the influence score measures, among other things, how many embedded links you have... especially links embedded by other members which point to your posts.

Here are a couple of things, I've learned in my short time:

1) An easy way to transfer the link is, while you are in the page to which you wish to point, copy the the web address on the top of the page, and past it into your link.

2) It is better to embed a link to, and from,  a movie, blog, or gallery, than it is to embed a link to, or from a microblog.  However, it is better to embed a link, than not to do it at all.

3)  After you have embedded and posted, always go to the post, and click on the link to see if it works.  If it does not work you might not get credit with Bitlanders.  Plus, Bitlanders might give credit for each "click through" that link.  Also, if the link does not work, you risk having your peers decide it is not worth clicking your links.  The most frequent problem is the 150 character limit truncating (shortening) your link without your realizing it.  If this happened, and the link does not work, delete the post immediately, and start over.

4)  It is better to have another person embed a link pointing to your pages, than it is to point to your own.  Therefore, you should develop reciprocal relations with others in which you embed links for them, and they do it for you.  Since many members do not really use this technique, don't wait for other people to embed your link... initiate embed for others.

5)  You cannot lose by embedding for others.  That is because, even if no-one reciprocates... the embed result in increased interactions, in which opportunities for additional Bitlanders earnings appear.

Awarding buzz trade gets members started... but members can only increase their earnings so far using buzz trade.  After that earnings depend on the complexity of members interactions in which you participate.

6)  Only embed material you think is good.  Your Bitlanders friends will not appreciate it, if you direct them to links... they have to listen to commercials... only to find a lousy video at the end.

7)  Often your Bitlanders friends post good materials, with lousy titles.  Use the embed link to demonstrate better marketing, with interesting, brite, and colorful leads... this is a win-win... you are essentially providing marketing for someone who is providing content...  it is sort of like... o, you know what.. it is... a referral.
