It's been a while since I've seen the US Open in person, but I remember them scheduling a doubles match along with the singles. So it's the same crowd for both. This must have been an unusual circumstance.
I remember because I kept thinking how stupid it was that they had to change the net to make it longer. Why not just use the long net for singles too?
