Yesterday was Bengali New Year known in Bangla as Pohela Boishakh. The day was celebrated both in West Bengal and Bangladesh with great enthusiasm. Cultural programmes were organized at different places, clubs and cultural centres with Bengali songs and dances and recitation of Bengali poems. All the Bengali TV channels celebrated the day in a colourful way. Thus it was a great day for all the Bengalis both here and abroad.
