31 Days of Breast Cancer Discovery: Drug Day 27 Treatment for Breast Cancer

Uploaded on Friday 25 October 2013

DESCRIPTION

There are 2 major hormones that doctors look at: estrogen and progesterone. Once the cancer is removed it is tested to see if it is sensitive to the hormones. If it is, that hormone is the food chain to the cancer cell. From there, hormonal treatment through the form of a pill is used to block the hormone from getting to the breast to the cancer does not return. There are 2 types of pills: tomaxifen for younger woman and aromatase inhibitors for post-menopausal women.
