DESCRIPTION

“Corner Shop” is one of the movies in the Official Selection of ÉCU 2012. Zoheir immigrated in the 70s and has run the local corner shop ever since: king of his own little kingdom. Into his shop walks Danny, tired and at the end of his tether. All Danny wants to do is pick up some beer and cigarettes and go home to his family.
“Corner Shop” explores the moment when tensions and frustration unexpectedly boil over. Touching on elements of race and conflict, 'Corner Shop' is focused more on the often ignored, quiet, unsung reality of human compassion. Zoheir a immigré en Angleterre dans les années soixante-dix et tiens l’épicerie du coin depuis son arrivée: le roi de son propre petit royaume. Danny entre dans le magasin de Zoheir, fatigué et à bout de nerfs. Il est en retard et tout ce qu’il veut c’est de prendre des bières et des cigarettes et rentrer à la maison avec sa famille.
