Nick Taylor: Paradise East

The New York International Film Festival (NYIFF) honored filmmaker Nick Taylor and his latest film Paradise East at a special reception during the Cannes Film Festival. Nick Taylor and his wife and producer on the film Fotini Taylor along with cast members John Borras (Ernie) and Franklin Abrams Cast received an Independent Achievement Award. Written and directed by Taylor, who has collaborated with Danny DeVito (Death to Smoochy) and Adam Sandler (Reign Over Me), Paradise East is a dark comedy about a desperately dysfunctional lower middle class family fiercely struggling to make it in the twentieth century.
So far Paradise East, a SAG film has been gaining recognition on the festival circuit. The NYIFF hosted the east coast premiere on April 29 at the Quad Cinema and it has been selected to screen at festivals in Ireland and South Africa. Accolades include an Award for Excellence at The Indie Fest in La Jolla, California and a Silver Lei award for Excellence at the Honolulu Film Awards.
