bitlander tips

Posted on at

A bitlanders friend asked that I post some tips to get the most out of bitlanders. I am flattered, as I am new to all this. I can share what I have been doing and hope it is helpful.

Everything I post is the best of my understanding; if I am incorrect in any way I hope friends who have been members longer will correct me. Please feel welcome to post tips or corrections in the comments, all positive feedback is welcome.

Quests

I completed the sign-up quests and posted one of everything except a movie. I plan to record something this weekend, perhaps related to my knitting.

I have since logged in every day and completed the daily quests. By doing this I have found many interesting blogs and videos. My posts to Facebook are what I am using to try to lure friends over to this site.

Log In Bonus

By logging in every day you also earn a bonus (mBC). If you miss a day of logging in your log-in bonus will start over.

Subscribe

While completing the daily quests I started subscribing to everyone whose content I enjoyed.
I then checked the leader board and subscribed too many of the top people, especially those who seemed to be good about subbing in return.

I continue to check my own content every day and do my best to sub and buzz those that buzz me.

All this subscribing adds to your buzz score boost. This is how we build each other up through interacting.

Equipment Purchase

I used five of the gems earned from sign-up quests to purchase a top for my avatar. This added a short term boost to my buzz score.

Submit for Review

I have submitted one blog post for review. This cost a significant number of gems, ten. In hindsight I wish I had edited the blog I chose more thoroughly. Better paragraphs, clarity, tagging, etc. would have earned me more stars. I received two stars from the review.

Even though it wasn't a very high rating, two out of five, the review still added to my buzz score. I also received valuable advice on how to present a better blog; a buzz bonus; and I learned more about this site.

Rewards

I am absolutely loving the Satoshi rewards available right now. All you have to do is view the five star posts at the top of your feed. Click on the blue button over the top of the video or blog posting. I have been logging on as often as possible to take advantage of these postings.

Post

It almost goes without saying but you have to post something for your friends to buzz. You can write about any number of things: a hobby; current events; random thoughts; music that you like; it's up to you. Write a microblog just to say good morning to your new subscribers and maybe post a picture with it. I have posted several morning pictures to try to give my friends from all over the world an idea of what a morning in Maine, USA, can look like. You can even just post a sticker that captures your mood. I like the Bitcoin and the Frog stickers. Have fun with it!

Friends

One feature I have not been able to take advantage of yet is the 20 percent you get from people who join through your invitation. I am still trying, time will tell if I persuade anyone else.

In Conclusion

I am in awe of how many different countries are represented on bitlanders. I enjoy seeing videos and pictures and blogs from around the world. Thank you to all of my subscribers. Thank you to all of you who post such wonderful content. Thank you to everyone showing that together we can work to mutual benefit.

 Thank you for reading.
