Happy Friday, Everyone! (and Happy Halloween!) November is a brand new month for the War of Films, because we changed how the contest works. While the contest prizes stay the same, the votes will be based on the total number of Facebook likes and Tweets a movie gets. We will be removing the voting bar on top of the player and let you use all your social networking skills to win the $2000. For a full list of rules, visit the contest page. Speaking of contests, we are still accepting submissions for Nicky’s Film Sound Design and Remix Contest! You can check out the new entries on the contest page. If you want to remake an Abel Ferrara film and work with the acclaimed director, this is your chance! Lastly, we’d like to inform all content providers of a new feature we implemented on the film profiles, called “Transcripts, production notes, scripts.” This means you can add your scripts, production notes, and any other written material on your film’s profile to increase its visibility, boost your page rank and traffic. This Week’s Highlights: Featured Filmmaker One of the earliest contributors to our platform, Nathan Christoffel always manages to surprise his audience with extremely original, thought-provoking, colorful, and sci-fi flavored films that hint at magical realism. His 2008 film Rewind Rabbit has been one of our top favorites since the beginning, and you can also take a look at the trailers of his Water Me Before I Die and Eraser Children. Featured Film OK, we’re obviously going sci-fi this week. A brand new film that was uploaded this week and already has well over 13,000 views – We are talking about Helical Dreams by Alex Nakone, of course. The film tells the story of Morag who gets a kidney transplant from his clone. Complications occur during the surgery, and Morag goes through a series of disturbing hallucinations. Watch the film and share your feedback with the filmmaker! Featured Web TV Filmmaker Alex Cress knows how to entertain his audience. After making the short mockumentary The Remy Burbee Mix-Up about an actor who thinks he won the Oscar for Best Actor, he now presents the film in full-length, as well as screening and party footage, and alternate/deleted scenes on his Web TV The Mix-Up. Check it out! Follow us on Twitter and Facebook! Have a great weekend! The Film Annex Team
