Inflation in India lowest with still high food prices.

Though prices of food articles still remain high, inflation in India is reported to have declined to a five-and-a-half year low of (-)0.39 % in January this year. The reason behind is supposed to be the falling prices of manufactured and fuel items. However, a matter of great concern to the government is that food inflation witnessed a rising trend in January and scaled a six month high of eight per cent.
