Smoked

DESCRIPTION

Matches? No. Lighter? No. Revolver? Yes. This is my twisted version of a public service announcement on the dangers of second hand smoke. It was an animation exercise that I did in the technique pioneered by William Kentridge. Technique involves the re-drawing of a single charcoal drawing and capturing it frame-by-frame. It was all straight ahead animation in one take. The paper is a high grade quality watercolour paper, mounted on a wall, captured by a digital camera on a tripod. I felt the charcoal medium was especially appropriate for the subject of smoking.
