Funds and facilitates the treatment of children suffering from HIV and AIDS. AFCA currently has seven local partners in Sub-Saharan Africa, providing much needed antiretroviral and chemotherapy medications—as well as medicine to treat opportunistic diseases—to children from birth to 19 years of age who are HIV positive or who have AIDS. AFCA works in Kampala, Uganda, at the Mulago Hospital Pediatric Infectious Disease Center; in Nairobi, Kenya, at the St. Mary's Mission Hospital; in Elementita, Kenya at the St. Mary’s Mission Hospital and St. Theresa’s House of Hope; in Mombasa, Kenya, with the Mombasa Community Based Health Program; in Voi, Kenya, with the St. Joseph’s Home of Hope; and in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe with ZOE. In addition, the organization provides medications to parents and guardians to improve the health of caregivers and reduce the chance that the children will be orphaned.
