Located in Vinh Long Province, Vinh Sang Tourism Area is considered “a miniature of the Cuu Long River Delta” with many tourist services being closely related to the simple life of locals in the western watery region in South Vietnam.

From the centre of Vinh Long City, it takes tourists about 10 minutes to travel by ferry then tourists can take a stroll on concrete roads shaded by a green canopy of a variety of fruit trees to Vinh Sang Tourism Area. It is also an interesting experience for tourists to travel to the tourism area by a boat hired from tourism companies or private boats at An Binh Ferry Landing. The trip promises to bring tourists amazing feeling by the beauty of the calm Co Chien River and the peaceful landscape on its banks.

Vinh Sang Tourism Area was built in a total area of 2.2ha in 2005 with the aim of exploding the region’s tourism potential and serving as an eco-environment for educational purposes. It was planned in a triangle with the first side along the Co Chien River’s bank, opposite Vinh Long City, the second facing the north where the My Thuan Bridge goes over the Tien River, and the last connecting with orchards on An Binh Isle.

Seen from its entrance, the tourism area’s space stretches wide with different areas for many wild animals such as peacocks, bears, spotted deer, African ostriches, gibbons and guinea fowls. Here, tourists are provided with many services, such as fishing, riding on African ostriches, walking on a bamboo bridge, grass sliding, riding around the area and rowing a boat to pick fruit. Tourists can visit the plum garden where they can catch fish on canals and enjoy the dishes made from their catch.

One of the most beautiful spots of the tourism area is the part on the left bank of the Co Chien River where 15 bungalows reflect on the water. The image of sampans on the river highlights the romantic landscape, mesmerizing any tourists. Not far from the bungalows is a large lake on which a small bridge connects to Da Dieu Restaurant. Here, tourists can enjoy simple dishes or specialties of the western watery area in the South and listen to Don ca tai tu (amateur traditional music of the southern region).

With its typical tourism products, Vinh Sang Tourism Area was selected as one of the four favourite destinations in 2009 by the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta Tourism Association. To attract a larger number of both domestic and foreign tourists, Vinh Sang Tourism Area has invested in building modern infrastructure and promoted cooperation with tourism companies and local owners of orchards to create many alluring tours.
