A MEMORABLE JOURNEY
It was 8 in the morning and I was rushing towards the gate with my luggage. My friend was waiting outside for me. We had to go to the college and from there; we had to leave for Abbottabad with our class for 2 days excursion trip. We were looking forward to visiting various areas in Abbottabad together with our teachers. I was to report at college at 9. Everyone was very excited about the trip. All I could see was a lot of bags and happy faces. We planned to have a bar.b.q party the night we reached Abbottabad.
We left the college at 10 and headed off for Abbottabad. On our way, we played different games like guess the movie and name, place, animal, thing etc. and listened to the music. I saw a lot of hills on the roadside which were a treat to my eyes. The pleasant weather added more charm to their beauty. The view was so beautiful that I could not stop looking out of my window even for a while. At 6, we finally entered Abbottabad and our teachers told us that we had to stay in the Dimanche hotel. On our way to the hotel, we passed from the residential area of Abbottabad and I realized that it is a very beautiful city. Upon reaching the hotel, we were assigned our rooms where we rested for a while and got ready for the bar.b.q party which was organized by our classmates on the terrace. We had a gossip session with our teachers after dinner and we discussed our future plans with them. I came back to my room with my friends late at night. Since I couldn’t sleep, so I called my friends residing in the other rooms and we had a great time watching movies and chattering with one another. It seemed that the time was flying.
I took a nap for an hour after my friends departed and got ready for travelling to the places which were to be visited that day. We were supposed to leave the hotel at 9 according to the plan and it was too late already. We started our journey by travelling towards Balakot as we had to visit a beautiful river there. It took almost two hours to reach the river. As I got out of the bus, I heard the gurgling of water flowing in the river. I never visited the river before so I was very eager to see it. The river was very beautiful. It was surrounded by the mountains which complemented its beauty. I took a tour of the river on boat with my friends. The water of the river was very cold and clear and I could see many fishes passing by my hand in the river. The scenery there was worth capturing and intrigued us to take a lot of pictures. After enjoying there, we insisted our teachers to take us to Shogaran which is another very beautiful place in the northern Pakistan. Shogran had very pleasant weather. We went to a small open air restaurant which was present in the foothills and the tables and chairs were arranged in such a way that molten water coming from the glaciers could easily flow from beneath our tables. The water was so cold that I couldn’t keep my feet in it for more than 5 minutes. We shared the table with our teachers and they challenged us to stand in freezing water for half an hour. All the girls badly failed in the task while the boys continued to stand in the water for a longer period. But still, no one could be able to win the challenge. Our teacher bought us some snacks as a reward and after having a splendid time there, we headed back to Abbottabad, to our hotel.
We checked in our hotel at 7 and quickly got ready since that was our last night in Abbottabad and we were planning to have dinner with our teachers in some hotel nearby. After having dinner, we returned to our hotel at 10 and went to our rooms in order to have some rest after the long tiring day. It was 12 in the midnight when I received a call from my teacher, ordering me to see her along with my roommates within five minutes. I became very conscious since I couldn’t think of anything that might have disturbed her and it was very late to call someone without any emergency. However, when I went to see her, I found that she was just joking and my other friends were also involved in that prank. All of my classmates were already present there and were having fun while playing different games. We also joined them and played games till 4 am in the morning. After that, I came back to my room and slept.
The next day was our last day in Abbottabad and everybody was a bit sad because the fun was going to be over soon. We gathered in the porch of our hotel before departing and took a memorable group picture with the teachers and other class fellows. We were to visit Kanpur dam that day since it was located in our route to Islamabad. The dam was very huge and one could see water all around. We took a ride on camel and explored the dam on boat. After staying there for a while, we started moving towards our bus since we were getting late, and finally sat off for Islamabad, making a lot of memories and having a lot of fun.. No one wanted to go back home since we had a lot of fun during our trip. Everything got normal soon, but that trip will always be one of the most memorable journeys I ever had with my friends. That trip turned out to be a great opportunity to interact with the teachers and other class fellows. I had great time there and I captured each and every moment of that trip. I will never forget that trip.
